UB FIGG invests in Austrian engineered wood components supplier Weitzer Woodsolutions

With the entry of two new strategic investors, Weitzer Woodsolutions GmbH (WWS) is laying the foundation for industrial-scale production of its innovative, sustainable high-tech products for mobility and industrial applications.

UB FIGG is investing, along with a local investor MFK Beteiligungs FlexCo (“MFK”), in Weitzer Woodsolutions GmbH ("WWS"), an Austrian developer of engineered wood components for mobility and industrial applications. The capital will support the company's transition to industrial-scale series production.

WWS is a part of Weitzer Holding, a family-owned business based in Weiz, Styria, that has been pioneering the use of wood since 1831 and is today one of Europe's leading parquet manufacturers. Building on nearly 200 years of wood expertise, WWS has developed engineered wood components that make renewable raw material predictable and suitable for demanding structural applications. The company has a project pipeline with leading industrial customers, including Siemens Mobility, Siemens Energy, BMW Group, Volkswagen, Daimler Truck, Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik, FB Industry Automation, among others. Weitzer Holding will continue to support WWS and remain as a shareholder in the company.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the investment amount.
